Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera is a compact camera for powerful performance. This remarkably simple digital SLR camera is high performance and incredibly advanced. It uses a 10.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor and DIGIC II Image processor, offering an unbeatable performance, ease-of-use and value. All these features and more are available in a lightweight, ergonomic body.
It has Canon's large-area 10.1 MegaPixel CMOS sensor, which is an APS-C size sensor that measures 22.2 x 14.8mm. With this sensor, you can have an effective angle of view that is 1.6x the normal EF Lens focal length. It enables you to capture images with fine detail and tremendous depth and resolution. You can also reproduce good quality images and digitally edit them as it offers superb detail and clarity.
It features DIGIC II Image Processor, which helps the camera to produce clear images with natural color and precise white balance. It employs sophisticated signal processing algorithms and works at greater speeds. As the CMOS sensor captures images, the DIGIC II Image Processor enhances every aspect of image capture.
Its brilliant 2.5-inch LCD monitor, that has approximately 230,000 pixels, features new user interface and wide viewing angle of 160 and brighter plus easier-to-read menus. The LCD monitor in the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera has high precision, wide area 9-point autofocus system. With this rear LCD monitor, shooting and reviewing information is easy.
It has the Display Off Sensor that turns off the external display automatically when you compose images. It works by turning the screen off when it detects your face against the back panel of the camera. This prevents the LCD monitor's brightness from disturbing your eye while looking through the viewfinder.
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera offers fast 3 frames-per-second shooting with 27-frame burst. With a startup time of only 0.2 seconds, you are always ready to shoot. It is sporting a shutter that can record images as fast as 1/4000 seconds and as long as 30 seconds. It was also designed to synchronize with Canon Speedlites at 1/200 seconds.
Located on the back of the camera is the high-precision 9-point AF system that is used for speedy and accurate focusing. This system can be accessed manually using the cross key buttons or automatically by letting the camera choose the right AF. For still photography, use One-Shot and AI Servo AF for shooting moving subjects. For moving and stopping subject, use AI Focus AF, which automatically switches between One-Shot and AI Servo.
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera also features Picture Style settings for a broad range of control over color, contrast and sharpening. It has six preset Picture Styles - Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Neutral, Faithful and Monochrome. The camera also has Print/Share button with advanced camera direct capabilities so you can have direct control while printing. To transfer some or all of the images from the cameras memory to folders on the computer, just connect the camera to a computer via the USB 2.0 port.
