Digital and classic photography concepts are so confusing that most people have no idea what is what, Some people are simply too young to have owned an old film camera, others don’t care about electronics so much. Digital and classic photography are subjects of a big controversy. Some consider digital photography a grosser alteration of reality, others claim that classic cameras are outdated and not worth the effort. And the debate become more and more interesting as professionals step in. Those who use digital photography as an art, are aware of the advantages of classic photography as well, and can’t tell witch is best.

An adept of the past will never agree to digital photography masterpieces and they will immediately see the images they considered altered in a god-like way, which cuts off the right to opinion of viewers. As examples, let’s take the ‘macro’ function witch every camera has, and the effects it can create depending on the distance between the posing subject and the lenses. Because macro is designed to ignore environment and focus all light and exposure toward the center areas, only the subject will be clearly visible. Playing with shades and bringing this central areas in the first visual field makes people less critical of the picture and this is considered bad. Some are even more extremist and even considered flash using a form of altering reality. They say that if a picture is taken at night, using a flash , then it will return a digital photography image. These people claim that night pictures must be taken as they come, at moonlight and not by using devices to bring light to a single point.

The other side, the one of digital photography loves, thank god for digital devices. They are grateful for the macro function that allows them to make their primary subject stand forward, because that is exactly what they want from their picture. These people are happy to see others see in their picture the exact thing they wanted to point out, they like the picture as they imagined it and do not want other to have different views. And are thankful for having flash when the light is not so good and they still want to take a picture.

In fact, it doesn’t matter what some say, digital photography will never ruin the art behind photos. It enhanced to possibilities of artists and brought life to so many variations that a simple picture can become so much more with a few little clicks. snapfish review
