Lens Accessories
Photography is an art, a hobby and an activity that is very dependent on equipment. Indeed, without a camera one cannot have a photograph. Without lenses, the photographs won’t be as good, and without lens accessories, lenses won’t be as functional as they are. I am talking about lens adapters, lens hoods, lens caps, close up attachment lenses, lens cleaning gadgets, and all those miscellaneous gadgets that help one take better photographs.
Here an explanation of the various lens accessories and their uses is in order. Lens adapters are used to fit or mount a favorite lens on to a camera body that is not originally made to be compatible. Lens hoods have the primary purpose of shading a camera lens so that light will not create glare or lens flare in a photograph. Lens caps, on the other hand, are covers that protect a lens from bumps and scratches. Close up attachment lenses are used in macro photography. This allows you some savings by providing the effect of a macro lens without actually buying one. Lens cleaning gadgets do not provide any special photography effects but are just as important. They help in the upkeep and maintenance of very expensive equipment. There are basic kits for camera lens cleaning. These already equip you with a blower, a soft brush, a cleaning liquid, and lens cleaning paper.
All these lens accessories can help take good photographs but a good eye for images, sensitivity to lighting, and an understanding of basic techniques are more valuable to a budding photographer.
